The solution
Storage Systems Ltd completed a large installation of Compactus® Mobile Library Shelving for the University College Dublin at Belfield. The installation comprises over 850 bays of Compactus®. Each mobile base is 12m long and is fitted with 24 bays of shelving 3.2m high x 1200mm wide x 250mm deep each fitted with 10 shelves. Each mobile base is designed to support 15,000kg’s of books.
As this installation is over 3.2m high all mobile bases are fitted with an anti-tilt mechanism in the base to ensure stability. The installation includes natural oak decorative panels fitted on the front side.
