Boijmans Van Beuningen completely renovated their entrance area. The entrance now provides access to the brand new print cabinet. The print cabinet of Museum Boijmans van Beuningen is a world-famous collection of prints, drawings and books which can be visited free of charge.
The print room area had to be a uniformity with the adjoining room; transparent, modern and had to have a clear museum storage for prints, drawings and books.
Prints and drawings are very sensitive to light which means they cannot be placed on permanent exhibition but can only be exhibited intermittently.
The solution
For the storage of prints and drawings a Bruynzeel Compactus® mobile storage system with cabinets of drawers was installed to make optimum use of space. In addition to maximum storage capacity, the Compactus® fitted with drawers also provides optimal protection of the prints and drawings against dust and light.
