Preservation top of the agenda at conference
Bruynzeel Storage Systems is proud to announce it is sponsoring a bursary place to attend this year’s CILIP Rare Books and Special Collections Conference in Aberdeen. The conference, entitled ‘New Space for Old Books: Building for the Future’ will focus on how to adapt historic buildings for modern usage and include advice on ensuring the future safety and preservation of collections.

Amanda Saville, Chair of CILIP Rare Books and Special Collections Group, said: “I am absolutely delighted that Bruynzeel’s generous sponsorship has enabled the Group to offer a second sponsored place at this year’s annual study conference.” “We know from previous bursary holders how important attendance at events such as the RBSCG Conference can be for those in the early stages of a career in special collections.” Candidates for the bursaries must be members of the CILIP Rare Books and Special Collections Group who are students or have recently started a career working with special materials. The conference takes place 27-29 August at University of Aberdeen.
