When Parisian retail design specialists ID Nollet were asked to design the new stores for French sportswear retailer Chausport, it consulted Bruynzeel Storage Systems to provide a storage solution. Its brief was to “restyle” and optimise all of the space in a new generation of outlets.
ID Nollet chose the Compactus® storage system for Chausport. Thanks to this system, it was possible to do away with the traditional stockroom at the rear of the store as stock is held in the store itself. Given the high cost of retail space, this solution enables Chausport to assign a greater percentage of floor area to sales. The equipment comprises five mobile storage systems and one static shelving unit for each store, fitted with shoe displays and decorated with the logos of the big brands. The shelves can only be accessed by sales staff, who remain in contact with their customers at all times as there is no requirement to leave the shop floor. Sales staff can then put the stock which is not purchased directly back into the units, aiding good stock management. The shelving units are equipped with hand cranks, the design of which contributes to the store’s sporty and dynamic look.
